Iran Makes Strong Showing at BRICS Young Scientists Forum in Brazil

Tehran– Tehran– The 10th BRICS Young Scientists Forum and the 8th BRICS Young Innovator Prize were held from September 15 to 17, 2025, in Brasilia, Brazil. The three-day event brought together scientific delegations from BRICS member countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, China, Brazil, Egypt, India, Russia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia, centering on three key themes: scientific diplomacy, artificial intelligence, and climate change.

The three-day event brought together scientific delegations from BRICS member countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, China, Brazil, Egypt, India, Russia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia, centering on three key themes: scientific diplomacy, artificial intelligence, and climate change.

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran played an active role at the Brasilia forum, demonstrating a major stride in enhancing the country’s scientific and diplomatic outreach.

 

The Iranian delegation, comprising 12 of the country’s leading scientists and university professors under the age of 40, participated in the forum through arrangements coordinated by the Center for Progress and Development of Iran (CPDI) Presidency, one of the nation’s foremost institutions for promoting international collaboration in emerging technologies, in cooperation with the I.R. Iran Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy.

 

Young Iranian scientists made a strong impact through presentations and research projects covering a wide range of topics, including comprehensive modeling of the environmental, economic, and social impacts of COP policies in BRICS countries, technological innovations in water management and renewable energy, interdisciplinary studies on climate change and biosafety, science diplomacy in a changing world, artificial intelligence for social solutions aimed at improving the quality of life in BRICS nations and policy recommendations to enhance scientific cooperation among BRICS countries.

 

Through their active participation at the Brasilia forum, Iran’s young representatives played a key role in showcasing the country’s scientific achievements and made a meaningful contribution to discussions on science, technology, and innovation.
