Helping Import Carp Breeding Line

Due to its Climatic diversity and different aquatic ecosystem, the Islamic Republic of Iran is known as the largest aquatic producer in the region. The main share of the country's aquaculture is the breeding of hydrothermal species such as carp and trout.

Ordinary carp with 51 thousand tons out of a total of 170 thousand tons is ranked second in the production of freshwater fish in the country. The average production per unit area of the country's thermal pools is 2.5 to 3 tons per hectare, which is a low figure compared to the global average. Despite the tripling of the country's aquaculture area over the past ten years, production per unit area has not changed and production efficiency is very low compared to other parts of the world.

Breeding is one of the most important strategies to eliminate the dependence of the aquaculture industry and increase productive production in this industry. This action, which aims to stabilize desirable genes, results in more inputs, more production, and more stability. Also, by reducing the amount of water consumed and food costs, and increasing resistance to deadly diseases, it can increase the profit and efficiency rates.
