CPDI as the focal point for coordinating and promoting relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and SCO & BRICS member countries

The Center for Progress and Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Presidency (CPDI) played a pivotal role in the accession of IRI to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS Alliance. As one of the first organizations to study the benefits of IRI's membership in SCO and BRICS, CPDI systematically analyzed the structure, performance, and capacities of these two bodies, highlighting the opportunities they present for enhancing our country's progress and development. The findings from these studies were disseminated to the decision-makers, relevant institutions, and academic and research centers across the country through meetings and publications.

Following Iran's membership in the SCO and BRICS, CPDI has remained one of the most active governmental organizations in promoting collaboration with these two significant international entities. This goal has been achieved through continuous and close interactions with the IRI Ministry of Foreign Affairs, active participation in specialized summits, coordinating the online sessions of various specialized working groups within SCO and BRICS, provision of expert recommendations on submitted documents, and proposing new initiatives to advance cooperation in areas aligned with CPDI’s activities and missions.

Due to these efforts and resulting achievements the IRI Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is responsible for overseeing cooperation with the SCO and BRICS, appointed CPDI as the focal point for coordinating and promoting relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and SCO & BRICS member countries, specially in the technological and innovative fields.
