Contributing to Localization and Development of
Water Desalination Technology
Water resources around the world are at a critical juncture, and the problem of water, both quantitatively and qualitatively, has created many problems for the world. Given that it is not possible to increase the world's freshwater resources, it is necessary to improve the methods of using fresh water and the use of new technologies for the treatment and desalination of brackish water.
In this regard, various technologies have been developed. But one of the main problems of conventional desalination plants is their relatively low efficiency due to the production of a significant amount of saline effluent with high concentration in the desalination process. In addition, environmental laws and restrictions on wastewater disposal are becoming more stringent.
Therefore, some technologies for increasing the efficiency of desalination plants have been developed. Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is one method that helps to completely treat saline effluent and extract drinking water. The efficiency of desalination units have been highly increased by using ZLD technology.
