Participation in the Establishment of the Alliance of International Science
Organizations in the Belt and Road Region (ANSO)
Regional and international organizations are very important in developing science and technology relations between countries. According to this approach, China has pursued the establishment of the “Alliance of International Science Organizations in the Belt and Road Region (ANSO)” in order to revive the Silk Road and implement the One Belt-One Road Initiative. ANSO was formed with the leadership of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the participation of more than 40 countries in the region and pursues the following goals:
- Forming and directing scientific and technological collaborations
- Providing scientific advices to governments
- Supporting joint scientific research on key regional and global issues
- Strengthen staff training, academic communication and exchange of scientists
- Cooperation and exchange in basic research and innovation in science and technology
- Dissemination and application of knowledge in the interests of society
