for International Biotechnology Standards

The development of standards is done with the aim of regulating, standardizing and improving the quality of products in various fields and thus promoting the interests of society based on established scientific and technological results. After the development of standards in any field, many business exchanges and even scientific research are affected by these standards.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has been established to develop international standards in various fields. The standards of ISO facilitate trade and commerce between countries and support consumers of goods and services. The actions of ISO, after approval in the form of international agreements, are published in the form of international standards. Therefore, different countries try to cooperate with this international body in developing international standards, according to the current situation and their future plans. The Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran, as one of the main members of ISO, participates in the development of international standards.

In addition to the active presence of the country in the development and implementation of international standards in biotechnology, the development of national standards in the country is also of great importance. Accordingly, it is necessary for the country to take the essential measures with the participation of experts in this field, including academics, producers, consumers, and so on.
