Iranian, French Firms Sign MoU on Science Cooperation
Iran's Dana Energy Company and a major French integrated Geo-science company have penned a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost their mutual cooperation in the field of science.
On the sidelines of an exhibition in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Saturday, Danan Energy Company and France’s CGG Services SA inked an agreement to cooperate in defining and implementing onshore seismic data acquisition and processing projects in Iran.
"The signing of this agreement is a ground-breaking development for geophysical services of Dana Energy. It gives us the global reach to deploy our technology, and work with the most experienced geophysical staff in the world to develop the technology further in operational settings,” Davoud Sarbaz, a senior official with Dana company, said during the ceremony, Shana reported.
CGG provides leading geological, geophysical and reservoir capabilities to its broad base of customers primarily from the global oil and gas industry.
International interest in ties with Iran has been growing since Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015 finalized a comprehensive nuclear deal and started implementing it on January 16.
The agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
